The Playstead: A Letter from My Heart to Yours

The Girl Named Button
If we met at a party, I might introduce myself as Button. I’d wait for the giggle or the curious tilt of your head before revealing that I’m actually Sarah. I do it because I love to see that moment when a stranger’s guard drops and they remember how to laugh.
I believe we’ve forgotten something vital as we grew up. We forgot how to be curious. We forgot how to wander without a map. Most importantly, we forgot how to play.

Beyond the Surface
People often look at my "dreamer" spirit and assume I haven't known the sharper edges of life. The truth is quite the opposite. I value play so deeply because I know the weight of the alternative.
Through my own journey, I’ve realized a simple, quiet truth: You cannot play until you feel safe. When we feel safe, we soften. We dance. We make silly jokes. We finally exhale.

Why the Playstead Exists
I didn’t start The Playstead to just "make things." I started it to create a sanctuary. I wanted to build a place—a "stead"—where play is the guest of honor and your safety is the foundation.
When you hold something from The Playstead, I want you to know it isn’t just a product you bought; it is a gift from my heart to yours. It is a small, tangible reminder that:
  • You are enough exactly as you are.
  • Joy isn't something you find, it’s something already inside you.
  • Your presence is a gift to the world.

A Token of Gratitude
I want you to be well. I want you to be happy. Most of all, I want you to look at these creations and feel like a friend made them just for you—because I did.
Think of this as a token of gratitude for the joy you carry. Let’s stay curious, let’s stay soft, and above all... let’s play.
From my heart to yours,
Sarah (but you can call me Button) 💛
